About Us... The Carleton Place and District Youth Centre was established in 1995 and incorporated as a charitable organization in 1996. A volunteer Board of Directors governs the Centre with representation from local businesses, citizens, the Town of Carleton Place council and the Carleton Place O.P.P. The programs and services offered by the Centre are based on serving the needs of young people in our community by providing opportunities for participation in educational, recreational, social and cultural programming. We offer unconditional and free acceptance to all program activities in an effort to decrease risk factors that contribute to young people turning to negative behaviours such as crime, school dropout and substance abuse. We are centrally located in the downtown core and are within walking distance from 8 schools, thus eliminating transportation barriers. Ages 10 to 19 welcome!!! FREE membership!!! Mandate... To provide young people with social, educational, recreational and developmental opportunities, enhancing the well-being of youth and our community. Mission...
